More entries for my challenge

Wow you girls rock!!!! There s more entries for my celebratory chalenge and I love every single one of them some of you even made two wich is FAB!!!!

Firstly I m gonna show you one of my own that I ve recently made, remember the last card wich had loads and loads of layers? well I ve decided that for my next one I m gonna try and design a card on one layer only and try and add texture and interst somehow else. This is what I ve come up with I ve used a SU cake stamp from the Sweet Treats set, I ve embossed the dots on the card the added various ribbons and trims, I ve also pinched Anna s idea of sticking gems on top of the brads, Prima flowers with a pearl centre,Anna Griffin monograms and a wedding stamp that I ve bought on ebay. I m very pleased of how it turned out, I think I ve achieved an interesting looking card without the many layers.

Now the next card is for the challenge and has been designed by LOOBYI just love those Junikitz papers, especially those cupcakes ..yum!!!

Next one is by my fellow Gogo DT Karen and she was soo eager she designed two of them, first using one of my most love stamps...Bella s

and this one

wich is soo gorgeous I could lift it straight off. Love the whole composition of it and she even made her own transparency grid.Fab!!

And last but by no means least is this little beauty designed by Jules I just love the bright colours she used.

I thank each and everyone of you for taking my challenge, hope there ll be more to come in the next few days. See ya

Im editing this post to add two more cards first one is from the very talented SAMM

I just adore what she did with the paper very cool and love those buttons too.

A big birthday!!

Hello, today post is about an incredibly layered card!! For a long time I ve admired the very layers involved cards over on SCS and woved I m gonna have a go one day, and yesterday was the day!!lol. One of the girls I work with is gonna turn 50 next month and her mum asked me to make her a card. She didnt really mind what colour or design so I ve had a free hand to just run with it!! The photo above is the box for wich I ve used a Anna Griffin label stamp a prima flower , PM pearl brad, Autumn Leaves swirly stamps, QZ Studio numbers for the 50 and my own handwriting for the *On your ...Th*.

For the card itself I ve used a SU dress stamp wich I ve watercoloured then diamond glazed and picked the middle of the flowers with stickles while the glaze was still wet. It is a very nice effect IRL. I ve chosen autumnal colours and have to say I do love those rusty tones. And I ve basically just layered until I could layer no more,at one point I was afraid the card would become front heavy and won t be able to stay upright LOL. I m happyish with the result and the lady really loved it but have to say havin looked at it all day I would have done parts of it diferently. Oh well never mind there s alaways next one.

Now I ve been sitting on some exciting bit of news for a while now, and how I ve never let a word slip I ve no idea, but all will be revealed tmrrw. put it this way is Reason enough for me to celebrate so to mark the event I m setting a challenge. Please design a card fit for a celebration it can be any kind of celebration you d like, post a link here when you ve done and I ll add it to the blog, next wendsday I will pick a winner. The prize is some very hot(straight from the states) selection of ribbons in an array of colours that I ve just received today(will put some pics up tmrrw). So what do you think? Fancy a challenge? Have a go and pop back to show me your beautiful cards. See ya

I can see clearly...

Helloooooooo, I am so excited to share this, my most enjoyed project to date, after the release of those clear albums at CHA this summer, I woved I m gonna have to try one of those. As I ve signed for a CJ on UKS( that s gonna be finished next may at the Lipstick retreat) I thought making one of those little books was gonna be perfect for it. So I ve got all my bits and bobs together got DH to drill holes in the acrylic, sanded the edges but then I was stumped at what to do. So went on Two Peas in a bucket site typed acrylic albums and there they were, quite a few of those babies go check them out here

I ve used 2mm thick acrylic and the pages are acetate, I ve used Heidi Swap mask, airondack paint,Love Elsie papers embellies and ribbons, rub ons, gems, glitter, chipboard, doodlebug frills,Autumn Leaves stamps, hambly overlays etc.

My theme is very apropriate the name of the retreat is*Lipstick* so I ve settled on *5Girly Facts About You* and this above is my DLO,photos are not the best cos I was running out of light this afternoon I might take some more later. Even the sign in tags are clear. I just soo loved making this, I ve already have another one on the go,so go on have a go you will love it!!
Seee ya!!

Cake time

Yep I ve had to make another cake for a 10 year old little girl, she was over the moon with it . Gorgeous shades of pink and cerise accompanied by lime green. I so loove this colour combo at the minute. The bottom tier was a yummy chocolate truffle cake, and the top was a vanilla sponge with white chocolate filling.
Right Cheryl is running another workshop online if you want to further your photographs I would urge you to go and sign,it has helped me loads and I ve thoroughly enjoyed the 10 weeks even tho for half of it I didn t have the time to properly look into. But the beauty of it is each module comes as a pdf so you can alaways go back and redo it! It is fantastically cheap too at £20.00 that s £2.00 per/week/module. Go here if you re thinking about it... and check my photo that says Monica Gale, I nearly died when she contacted me asking for permission to use my image to advertise the workshop. I ve got something yummy to show tmrrw. so check me out. See ya

I m such a wally!!!

Well what else can I call myself? a few weeks ago there was a thread on UKS that one of the sponsors were looking for a DT team to showcase their new cardmaking kits, and I really really wanted to enter as I like the ladies the run the shop and I do like their scrapbooking kits but I m not a prolific scrapper as I ve only just started and didn t feel I would use a full kit every month so never subbed. So I did make a mental note of the 12 of august wich was the last day you had to get the entrys in, time went past and you ve guessed it yesterday I thought oooh I d better do some cards. and I did this one. Used an acetate card(I love this stuff keep your eyes open cos I ve got something cool to show you in a few days), I then cut my dress and the manechin form shaped the dress and stuck it in place, decorate it with microbeads, embossed a piece of DCWV card stamped the autumn leaves swirls straight onto acetate with staz on and again picked up some detail with those beads wich I ve also used to made a scalloped border, add little prima with a PM pearl brad, a little hero arts sentiment, and that s it!! Next so you have something to write your greeting on I cut a circle backed it with the background paper and then cut a border with my scalloped scissors.. Quite like how this one turned out

The next one I ve done last week cos I m also hosting this card swap on uks, and I ve made some cards for that as well as the audition. I ve used SU sweet treats for this as the nice wheather has definately inspired me to have a play with this set, used watercolours to colour the sundae then stickles glitter for the icecream and diamond glaze for the glass and the chocolate sauce wich you can t see in the picture but it looks quite good IRL.Lastly I ve made a tag with all the scraps left over.I ve used a sizzix tag and cut some chipboard(I could use this as a topper me thinks) then I ve embossed a pink card used some scraps of 3 bug in the rug_tickled pink paper some doodlebug paper frills, crystal gems watercoloured and cut the image of a sundae, glittered glazed and popped on 3 d foam pads, dotty ribbon finishes it off. So I ve got everything photograped and ready to send but of course now I couldn t find the thread with the email so I ve agonized all day trying to find it >>NOTHING. Then in a final attempt I ve sent Loraine at GO GO an email explaining how I m ready to upload the work. Meanwhile found the thread managed to get everything sent returned to the forum and guess what was there. a thread anouncing the winners for the very DT team I was trying for DOH!!. Well I felt so very stupid I can t tell you. So yes I am a WALLY for leaving everything at the last minute. Never mind I ll just have to be inspired by the new DT as they are a really talented bunch, and I ll just have to sub. to the kit. So sorry to have gone on and on...see ya

Sorry!!!

Hello my dears I am so sorry I ve been slack with my blog, quite busy period I won t bore you with the details. This post is all about photography, I m really happy at the mo cos my photos are coming along nicely. I ve completed Cheryl s photography course recently and I ve learned lots culdn t quite belive how much really, and I would say keep taking photos it will come more natural in time just take hundreds. We recently took a trip into Germany to visit some relatives and it involved a ferry crossing. On our way back I climbed on the top deck to take some photos and I ve managed to take this one wich pleased me no end.
Now where I want to get with this is the I took no more no less than 275 pictures and there s only about 5 of them that are any good. So deffo the more you take the better chance you ll have of getting that good shot. So about this course I think there were 250 people that took part ,we had a module per week, and we had to choose maximum 3 images each. Every week the tutor choose the best 5 images, now I never ever thought I will be one of the chosen ones for any of the modules due to the fact that I ve only heard of proper creative photography in march and started taking photos in april(I do however have to add that two of my team mates on UKS Sarah and Donna have managed it on several occasion with Donna topping the chart nearly every week.. SHE ROCKS!!)....but in the penultimate week on the most challenging module acording to Cheryl *capturing action* one of my images has been chosen as image of the week. I WAS GOBSMAKED and here it is(click on the images for a really close look)

I m definately growing more confident each day and I m more inclined to think outside the box as well. I just wanted to share this so in years to come I can refer back and I would not forget. SEE ya
