Nature Walk colouring

Helloooooo Oh Goodness THANK YOU so much for all your lovely comments regarding the cake. I had a few questions and I will answer them before I move onto today’s card, I am mostly self taught in the art of sugarcraft. I did attend a night class when I first come to the UK and I was lucky to have been surrounded by some wonderful and talented people in the field who set me on the right path and taught me the very basic of skills. Once we moved away I carried on on my own and practised on fake dummy cakes. I am pleased you all enjoyed something a bit different than my usual cards once again thank you for your lovely comments.
I had a fab day yesterday one of my team members travelled up my neck of the woods to see a friend and once I found out she was up here I invited her and her friend over for a little crafty rendezvous. A quick phone call to one of my local team member quickly ensured there was 4 of us. The girls made the class I taught the previous day(it was easy as it meant I didnt have to think of anything at the last minute and it saved me from unpacking  straight after the class on SundayAngel).
And I started on a card that took me an age to make.

I saw a inspiration picture on my blog travels recently and it had this beautifully coloured bird I kept it in order to try and recreate the same look, it was a lot harder and I ended up with a flock of birds all sporting different coloured feathers. I had to stop in the end and settled for the one that looked half decent but I am actually pleased with it. The stamp set is called Nature Walk from Stampin’Up!’s mini catalogue. I used confetti cream card stock and stamped in basic black and coloured using a combination of reinkers and markers. All done with the aquabrush. Colours used were Marina Mist, More mustard and Soft Suede.  Here’s a close up for you warts and all *wink*

Is far from perfect but I had fun doing it well for the first 5 anyway The layout is a very simple one and it involved mainly designer paper.
Here’s the supply list: All products Stampin’Up! unless otherwise stated.
PAPER: Early Espresso, More Mustard and Confetti card stock, Botanical Gazzette Designer paper
INK: Basic Black pad, reinkers in marina mist soft Suede and More Mustard
STAMPS: Nature Walk, Curly Cute, Medallion background
TOOLS: Decorative Label punch,
ACCESSORIES: Espresso Button, Marina Mist satin ribbon.
For the measurements not much there really as I cut all my dsp at 10.5cm wide and I layered different widths of different papers tearing them and curling them.
The sprig stamp has been coloured with markers and cut out then positioned over the ruffled ribbon.
I topped it with a button then made a little embossed circle of card to go on top of this, you might be seeing that better in the top picture.
Hope you like my card and thank you for visiting.
See you again soon, till next time hugs xxx

  5. Great card! I love the bird - he looks so vibrant. I like Nature Walk - but I find it takes me a while to get a card I am comfortable with. Andrea

  6. Hi Monica!

Thank you so much for the fab morning on monday, I had so much fun playing with Sew Suite. I LOVE the way the card turned out and it was lovely to see that my creation process is quite similar to yours - the fate of the first bird made me smile :)

Hope to see you again soon
