Birthday Passionette

Hello my sweet blog readers!! I hope you all had the most fabulous time over the Christmas period and hope you are looking forward to Celebrating the New Year. I never got the chance to come on here and wish you a Happy Christmas but I do hope you did have a fab one.
Mine was good, it was spent with those that matter most to me, lots of good food (in fact far to much of it) and a bit of relaxing in there as well.
Today is Linz’s happy day!! She must be 21 as she does  not look a day older then that. Linz is such a sweetie, if you had the pleasure of meeting her you will know just what I mean. She is a great friend to me as well as my downline  and I feel blessed to have her in my life.
Her favourite colour is turquoise and here’s my card to her. LOTS of new and upcoming products on here, droool.
linz's hb
I settled for an easel card and used the Designer paper stack in tempting Turquoise along with card in the same colour and some Very vanilla. There are two new stamp sets on here as well, one a lovely sentiment one and the other is part of a larger set that's just so pretty. I only used the droplets on this card to add some regal glamour and sparkle to my card.
The regal theme continues with some very lush velvet ribbon in vanilla and the sweet charm hangs in a window made with the Extra Large Oval punch.

The shimmery silver frame was made using the Frames embossing folders and the Big Shot machine. A strip of punched lace and a oval layered sentiment finished off my card.
I hope you and Linz like it, thank you for stopping by and if you want to see some more sneak peeks from the upcoming Spring Mini Catalogue make sure you visit me tomorrow for a Passionettes Mini Blog Hop.
till then big hugs xxx

Welcome Christmas- Dasher !! Team gifts

Hello there lovely friends hope you are well and you keep on smiling as you sorting out the last few bits.

Today I am sharing my team gifts, each year I send a Christmas ornament and each year I usually purchased one. However this year was the first year I didn’t work so I though it would be a good idea to actually make them instead. So I set to work all the way back in October and here’s what I came up with

decs

They turned out so sweet, well I like them and the girls seem to as well as I had lots of lovely emails from them this week.

You can see 2010 Here, 2009 ornament here, and 2008 I seem to have missed off my blog, I do have one myself so I will have to photograph it.

The heart was cut from a thick card board and the Petal Cone die, for mine I recycled the backing that comes with our designer speciality papers.

I covered the hearts with newsprint designer paper and covered the seam with a mixture of silver and gold glass glitter, I used Tombow multipurpose glue as my choice adhesive.

The leaves were cut from the brushed silver card stock on the Big Shot and dazzling diamonds were added using the fabulous adhesive sheets. I cannot tell you how easy and brilliant those sheets are. You simply place your cut shape onto them and after removing it you have a sticky shape ready for the glitter, no messing and when you have over 100 leaves to make very quick.

Now for the pinecones.

I have to say I agonized over this bit for ages as I just couldn’t find any tutorials out there on how to make them. I knew how I wanted them to look but I didn’t know how I was going to get there and after a bit of head scratching it finally come to me.

cones

I have used the same technique like you would for making a paper bead, using a scallop border punch to add a border on one side. Then roll and glue shut. Simple right? well it is but it took my poor brain a while to come up with it I can tell you.  So after making LOADS of cones I glued them into place with a hot glue gun and topped with a sweet banner from the Welcome Christmas set . It was the perfect sentiment for my heart ornament.

Some vanilla seam binding and Victoria lace were added to the heart with a metallic brad, the only non SU item on there actually.

Next I needed some packaging and I used my recycling skills again. If you ever had an order delivered from STampin’Up! you will know that you get some brown paper in with your goodies to protect them. well it would be fair to say that I get a few meters of this paper frequently,ok I get REAMS and REAMS of the stuff that I always throw in the recycling bin. Not this month I didn’t!!

brown bag  Instead I used it to make a sweet bags for each of the ornament. Using some metallic thread and my trusty sewing machine I whizzed these bags up in no time.  They look so sweet do they not?  Sorry what was that did you say? I have used that stamp again? Oh yeah so I did !! I am sorry but I still cannot tell you much about it yet *wink*.

And these are my cards for this year.

dasher_

My theme is white with lots of gold and silver this year so the ornaments and the cards I sent out  do match a bit.

Serene Snowflakes stamp set and the gorgeous Dasher, I laughed at myself as I had all these new stamp sets this year that i was going to use for my cards and I ended up choosing something I already had for a few years now, I do have a bit of a love for Dasher though.

A subtle combination of Very Vanilla card stock with Sahara Sand and Early Espresso ink. More lace trim and some retired Early Espresso satin ribbon that I had in my stash.

dasher close

I brayered a snowy mound for my Dasher to sit on and the sentiment  from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set was punched out with the word window punch.

And that is my lot for today folks, I hope you like it.

Right thank you visiting, off I go to collect my meat and fresh flowers and do a bit more cooking. Stay focused the end is near LOL>

Till next time big hugs xxx

stevie 1

Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo and Baja Breeze. The image from the stamp set Just Believe was coloured using Marvellous Markers, other sets were Curly Cute along with Broadsheet Alphabet for the monogram and the En Francaise background . I have used loads of punches, border punches and top note die shape plus some Lucky Limeade ruffled ribbon.

Stevie I hope you liked your card and I hope you had a really lovely birthday.

I also want to share some gift packaging. The Thermomix has been in overdrive and I still have some more goodies to cook yet.

Here some that have been delivered already

pkg main

Cute huh? The bottle contains some fine Scottish Cream Liqueur, and is called this because my hubs only had some Scottish single malt in the drink cabinet. Is thick and very yum *hick*.

The brown bag which I scalloped using the scallop border punch, contains a piece of my Quince paste that I made back in November, here.

And the tags a bit more closely?

pkg

What was that? You do not recognise the stamp in the background? oh well I cannot say much about it really, if I did I would have to kill you LOL

I love the creatively yours set, for people that love to cook and gift their makes is just the ticket really.

pkg 1

Well that’s it for today folks, thank you for visiting I will come back soon I hope, plans are changing by the minute round here.  Keep busy and keep smiling. Till next time big hugs xxx

Candy Cane- More Appreciation

Hello there, I doubt anyone will have time to read this blog entry as WE ARE ALL so busy. I will be brief so take a little break you need it!!!

I did promise to share the other project from my Appreciation Event last Sunday and here it is. as well as this ornament HERE they also got to make this

wreath_

I cannot tell you how EASY this wreath was to make. Made the ring out of pipe lagging secured with duct tape and lengths of fabric were looped round to hide. The ruffled section is so sweet and very easy to recreate. Simply take  a  straight piece of fabric and pin into place gather as you pin to create the fun ruffled look, told you EASY and no sewing at all.

wreath close

Flowers were cut from Real red card stock and the Bigz Fun Flowers die topped with layers of fabric cut from the same die on the Big Shot.

flowers close

I love it and it now lives in my kitchen for the duration of the holidays.

I also want to show you the little bits and pieces i have made for each attending guest.

Each guest had a tissue box for their handbags, is the season of coughs and splutters so i thought this will be handy.

tissue

The pattern came from the lovely Jo D and you can visit her blog here to purchase the tutorial.

We have also made some of these lovely petal cone treat holders.

cone

I say WE because  I worked with my lovely PA and sweet friend Carol on these , now please note that PA stands for permanent assistant and not personal assistant as she seems to be here all the time bless her. She is a little angel helping me out when I have lots of the same thing to be done, I am so lucky to have her, we really enjoy each other company and we have such a laugh and a giggle while working.

Colour are Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Wisteria Wonder and a hint of Certainly Celery.

Right I hope you enjoyed taking a peek at my makes today and I will finish by wishing you good luck, hang in there and don’t worry if it gets a bit worse before it gets better.

CANDY CANE Appreciation Event

Heloooooooooo.

I am so glad to be here again and I hope you missed me. Let me start by saying  that I had a long and hard week last week but somehow managed to come out the other end and I am so glad, I would gladly rewind the whole week and start it again if I could.

How are you doing? I bet you are busy with all things Chrsitmas!! I had my last event for this year apart from a team training towards the end of the month and I can finally start thinking about my plans. I have done nothing!! The tree is UP and the lights are on it but that’s as far as I got, I hope I can get it done tomorrow.

Yesterday I had my Customer Appreciation event and it was such a fun day!!

14 of my regular class attendees were invited to a day of crafting with fun surprises and  lovely projects then straight after we moved onto the last Christmas Club and made these cards here.

This event was my chance to thank the lovelies for their support over the last year and each one got a pack of Candy Cane designer fabric.

The first project was this sweet no sew, no iron ornament

mist

See told you the tree was up Winking smile.

I love these little balls of fun and they are so easy to put together once you get the idea. Everyone loved them and it was fun to see them all at the end each one slightly different.

Here’s a little close up

orn close

I have to admit at this one being my very first one I have made so is not perfect, since then I started another one and is so much better. I added a red glitter brad in the centre and the lush bow is made from the fabulous Cherry Cobbler seam binding.

They also made a wreath and I will share that with you next time.

Till then big hugs and thank you for visiting me still even though I have been so bad at blogging.

ps. If you emailed me lately and haven’t heard back PLEASE send it again, I had some major problems with my PC this last week so I probably didn’t see it.

Till next time BIG HUGS XXX

Saturday, 3 December 2011

Hello there I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I am away so I am blogging from my IPad and won't be long, but I wanted to show you a few things I have been busy with.
I have done some more felting, this time slippers and a wearable neck piece called lariat. I am enjoying felting and it helped me a lot on my quest to make as many Christmas presents as I can this year.
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
And just because this is a paper crafting blog I am also sharing one of the Convention makes n takes.
Image Hosting by PictureTrail.com
I loved this card and the first day after getting back home from Paris I made 36 of these to send to my downline that couldn't attend. It uses the beautiful set Creative Elements and a colour combo of Old Olive, Island Indigo and Early Espresso. I love the crimped area. Can I just point out that this was Joannes Gelnar card and she kindly allowed me to take a picture of it and offered to hold it for me outside to get a good shot of it, thank you Joanne. I did finish all my projects at Convention and will share the rest soon, I do have tons of stuff I have been making just don't seem to have two minutes to myself these days.
And when you re busy you need quick meals. I made the easiest and quickest mackerel pate in the Thermomix the other day. It took me 3 seconds once I added all the ingredients to the bowl, even though I had my machine nearly 4 months I am still amazed by it.

Can I just say if you like fish you will find this hard to resist, it is my favourite spread.
Thank you for stopping by see you again soon, until then big hugs xx

Hello there WOOOHOOO !  is 1st of December!! followed  by OMG !! it can’t be already!!!
And while I am getting excited about Christmas I know it will be different this year, it will be our first Christmas without mum and that will be hard. She used to love this time of the year and right about now she would start planning the humongous menu and sweet treats to feed thousands over the festive period, she would also start cleaning every corner of the house, with my poor dad sent outside in the snow to beat the carpets to a bright and brand new state. I am so grateful for the memories and miss her dearly.
1st December means that most of us enter a few weeks of frantic planning/buying/making/socialising and the to do lists will grow by the hour, so I had a think about all these crafters running out of time to make their cards to sent out. I know I am miles ahead compared to previous years but nowhere near done. So this is how my Last minute Christmas Card kit was born.
I have put together a selection of lovely cards, you will get complete kits to make 5 cards in each of the designs and  they are easy and quick enough to put together in one afternoon, by my calculations you should have all 20 of them finished in less than 3 hours.
