Joshua's card

......and Carole's colour challenge. Hello I am back with a cute baby card I have made for the cute baby Joshua.
Isn't it just so adorable ?, me loves baby cards a lot!!! I have used Wild about you ( and I am wild about you set!! I am) and the colours are from a challenge my fabby downline Carole posted on ILWS. Colour combo was Basic Grey, Certainly Celery and Ballet Blue. Lovely combo and I am pleased with my card however the numpty that I am instead of Ballet Blue I have used Bashful Blue, not because I haven't got ballet cos I do, but because I never read things properly. still is still blue and I loves it. hope Joshie's mummy will to ( wink, wink). The sentiment I have made from 2 separate ones using the SAMJ, and the frames with the flourish medallion was stamped around it then punched out and layered onto a scallop circle layer.

I am also sharing a mini book I have designed for the latest round of UStamp.

The Fabulous Baroque Motifs set have been used in this split negative technique. Orchid Opulence, Basic Black and Whisper White is the combo. Frame from the *Frames with a Flourish* set (I use this a lot ), pearls and crystal beads from the pretties kit, taffeta s ribbon and gingham ribbon too, make this little wedding book a sweetie.

Now there are TWO MORE DAYS left to order during the SALE A BRATION period and I have a SU party booked for tonight, if you place an order with me today or tomorrow till lunch time, (12.00) I will offer you FREE POSTAGE on everything you buy, remember for every £45.00 spend you receive a FREE SAB set of stamps of your choice, Or want to join as a demo, became PASIONETTE and get 2 free stamp sets from the catalogue?anyone you like? PHEW!!!

What a week!. Lots and lots happened. Firstly at the beggining of last week I found out that my beautiful friend Claudia had safely delievered her first ever so gorgeous baby boy Joshua John Fatzinger a healthy and very big baby, I forgot exact weight but over 11 lbs. He is just adorable and I so wish I could jump on a plane to Seatlle right now only so that I could smell him.

Welcome into the world little one and BIG congrats to mom and dad, their lifes will never be the same again. A huge lot of love to you all.( photo shamelessly knicked from Leigh's facebook)

Then work, and then work some more after work on a wedding cake.

A simple but elegant design, and it was those flowers and leaves that took a bit of time. I was pleased with the result( and the very smooth, flaw free finish wich is important when the tiers are almost bare) and the bride and groom were too, which was the crucial bit. uhu it was>

Friday me and hubby went to see my uber talented Passionette Julie in Sweeny Todd, well all I can say is WOW!!!! the show was FANTASTIC and Julie equally brilliant, a true pro and I have enjoyed seeing her wearing a different hat so to speak.

Then Saturday was spent between work ( notice the pattern? that thing keeps getting in the way of things), delivering the cake attending the wedding service and take a few photos, then went out in the evening with some girlies till the early hours, Sunday was spent with family and recovering ( I just can't do it anymore, mind you I m not sure I ever could DO IT!!)And then Monday I HAD to clean the house because it was BAD. There bored yet?

I did made a card. It was a comission for someone s girlfriend.

Baaad photo as it was taken just as the day disappeared and no amount of clever editing would make it better but you get the idea. I am a bit tired of brown-pink combos, as yummy and as gorgeous I think they are.... and they are, but I was asked for pinks so that's what I did. *Crazy for cupcakes* image coloured with markers, sentiment framed by one of the frames from *Frames with a Flourish* and *girlfriend* was cleverly stamped with the aid of the SMAJ. Clever huh? Matching *Sweet Always* papers, pearls and choc chip grosgrain ribbon. Oh and the other colour used is Apricot Appeal.

Ok what else have I got to tell you? Oh yeah, do you live near me? DN14 9QZ? Cos if you do and you would like to see me in action, I would welcome you to a SU party at my place on Friday 27th of Feb. What s more exciting is not only you will get to see and drool over my extensive collection of SU stash( more or less the whole catalogue LOL), get a chance to touch and even use lots of it, you will also get the chance of winning all the free hostess benefits collected on the night, I am planning a mystery hostess party. So do you fancy a fun night out? bring your crafty friend along and let me entertain you( I know you re thinking Robbie Williams at this point, I am too). I am even baking little fancy's LOL. Birthday Passionette !!!

Heloooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Yes I am back in fact I have been back exactly a week today, and to start off the first few days were busy getting back to normal and worked every single day too, but then disaster struck and I fell poorly (AGAIN!! roll eyes) with a stinking cold and although bad, it was not even close as bad as my last one. So this is the reason why I was so quiet, just didn't feel like doing much. I did however managed to get one card done for a fabby Passionette of mine who celebrated her Happy Birthday yesterday. The girlie in question is the ever so cute Sharni, so I apologise to you sweetie for not blogging about your happy day yesterday, but like I said I was just not up to it after my class in the morning. This is the card I have made for her

Sharni loves yellow, and I worked on a Yoyo yellow combo for a whole day before I decided is very hard to make this colour look good so I switched to So Saffron and I am more happy with the result. So Saffron base stamped with the distressed background, Basic Gray textured card stock was punched with my Fiskars Threading water punch, and the flower heads from the sale a bration sets Botanical Blooms were stamped in Basic Gray and watercoloured using Barely Banana, So Saffron and Summer Sun Stampin Write markers. I attached a small crystal in the center of each bloom and layered them over coordinating circles punched out using the 1", 1 1 /4", 1 3/8"circle punches. I have pricked a zigzag edge on my whisper white layer using the mat pack and drew some So Saffron stitches using the marker. Basic gray taffeta ribbon was tied in a bow and the sentiment came from the Sincere Salutations stamp set. I hope Sharni like it and I hope she had a fabulous day. M xx

I taught a class locally yesterday morning and we made an Easter card and a sweet carrier container based on the milk carrier one that Jo has kindly shared on her blog. I have altered mine to house 2 of those little shot glasses and filled them with Cadbury mini eggs. the class was well received and the ladies fell in love with the Botanical blooms stamp set that you can earn for free by simply placing a qualifying order of £45.00. This set is my favourite for sure and I have used it loads already as you ve probably noticed lol. Here s a photo of the items

How sweet are those colours together? Certainly Celery, Regal rose and So Saffron, Botanical blooms SAB sets and sentiment from Seasonal Whishes. I also used the Yummy stamp set to add a label to the front of my little carrier, this was stamped in black then using the solid images from the Botanical I've stamped over the label picking up the colours used in the project.

I am busy with a wedding cake for next Saturday but I will try and blog some more till then. Hugs Monica xxx

Sooo hot...

Hello how are you? I am well and I'm afraid I have more posts telling you how hot it is in Egypt( 32 C is normal) and I know that most of the UK is covered in a thick white blanket of snow I just hope that you are all allright and not too stranded, saying that it should give you all plenty of crafting time if you cannot venture out and about. I only have a few days left of my fabulous break and while I am incredibly sad to be leaving this wonderful place I am looking forward getting back to normal. I have alot of very exciting stuff to share with you guys over the next couple of months and I cannot wait to get home and plan it all. But I will certainly miss Egypt
with his wonderful people and their preffered mode of transport, but I know I will return here for a different kind of holiday,a kind where I can explore the real Egypt with his wonderful ancient history. This picture was taken on a wonderful trip we took to the world heritage place of Saint Catherine. This is the oldest working Christian Monastery and the smallest diocese in the world. Some wonderful relics and works of art can be found inside the Monastery while lush gardens of almond, olives and various other trees can be found inside the fortress walls like the famous Burning Bush, wich I have seen and touched and decided that it looked like a weeping willow, to me it did anyway so I didn't bother taking a picture of it, and you were not allowed to take any pictures of the Monastery either so got none to share. But the almond trees were in flower and i couldn't refrain of taking a shot or two against the wonderful blue sky. Those trees only flower once a year (unlike other specimens that have two or three cycles per year)and the flowers last 25 days.
And after all this I will show you a card as well.
Not my best picture I m afraid, it was taken on our balcony and I am still coming to terms with the bright lighting here, so difficult when I m so used with our dim light at this time of the year.
Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip card stock and patterned paper, MoreMustard cardstock and grosgrain ribbon, Ruby Red and Bravo Burgundy markers used to add colour to the flower heads from the Live Your Dream stamp set, gold brads and some piercing using the matt pack, sentiment from the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set. Here s a closer look at the ribbon treatment. Don't forget there are still a few days left for my FREE POSTAGE deal, so make sure you place your order with me by 12 pm on Sunday 8th of February. Hugs M xxxx
