Helloooooooo, I am so excited to share this, my most enjoyed project to date, after the release of those clear albums at CHA this summer, I woved I m gonna have to try one of those. As I ve signed for a CJ on UKS( that s gonna be finished next may at the Lipstick retreat) I thought making one of those little books was gonna be perfect for it. So I ve got all my bits and bobs together got DH to drill holes in the acrylic, sanded the edges but then I was stumped at what to do. So went on Two Peas in a bucket site typed acrylic albums and there they were, quite a few of those babies go check them out here
I ve used 2mm thick acrylic and the pages are acetate, I ve used Heidi Swap mask, airondack paint,Love Elsie papers embellies and ribbons, rub ons, gems, glitter, chipboard, doodlebug frills,Autumn Leaves stamps, hambly overlays etc.
My theme is very apropriate the name of the retreat is*Lipstick* so I ve settled on *5Girly Facts About You* and this above is my DLO,photos are not the best cos I was running out of light this afternoon I might take some more later. Even the sign in tags are clear. I just soo loved making this, I ve already have another one on the go,so go on have a go you will love it!!
Seee ya!!
I came here from UKS to view your book and I wasn't disappointed! It's stunning. The rest of your blog is great too and I'll be popping back.
ReplyDeleteWow it's beautiful Monica!
ReplyDeleteLove ur stuff, that book is gorgeous, and I love the cake for the 10 year old
ReplyDeleteOh Monica - that is just the most stunning book I have ever, ever seen! It must have taken an age (and cost a bomb) to make but it's just fantastic - really, really good. You should contact the manufacturer of that book and let them see it - email them some pics - I think they'd be VERY interested :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a most stunning book it ws a pleasure to read your blog many thanks diane x
ReplyDeleteLove your blog piccies - your cards are stunning! As for your cakes - I struggle to slap a bit of icing on buns!

I definitely agree with Patsy. You should contact the manufacturer. I am sure they will be impressed with your gorgeous book.
ReplyDeleteOMG Monica! this is the most inspiring project i've seen in ages! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog.P.S I'll be back here, your work is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHi Monica! It's Sen from UKScrappers. I just came on here to leave you my email address as it seems I can't PM you on UKS at the moment, but my word did my eyes nearly pop out when I saw your work!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not quite sure what you've made (the acrylic book thingie), it's all still kind of Greek to me, but my goodness it's stunning!! And I scrolled down to look at some more of your work and it's all just simply beautiful. You are an amazing crafter and I feel so silly and such a numpty because all I can do it gawp and stare in awe, lol. I'll just give up the crafting now, lol. Seriously, you are one amazingly talented lady, your work is such an inpsiration and if in the future I could make something half as good as that, I'd be over the moon.
Thank you so much for your kind post on UKS. And your offer of the stamps and inks... well, I'm speechless really, as that amount of generosity is so rare, even from people who are my friends, let alone from someone I don't know! But please, only send them to me if you really don't mind, because I would hate to think you sent them just because some newbie comes along and starts wailing the odds about her crafting problems, lmao.
So, if you don't mind, I'll leave you my email address and if you could contact me with yours, I shall send you my home address. It's edens_poison@hotmail.com
Thank you again,
Sen x
a beautiful piece of work and a great blog, keep it up!
