Sharing...

hello like I told you in my last email I have something special to share with you. This is an email i have received from Alison a lovely lady and a customer partial to some SU stash. This is what she sent me
*************************************************************************************
Hi Monica,
I just wanted to share with you a card I made yesterday to send to my sister using the All in the Family set and accessories.....I had such fun making it!!!
Last Monday was my hubby's and I's 18th Wedding Anniversary and also my brother in laws birthday and my niece's boyfriends birthday!!!

All my family met down at my sisters for the day....the first time in 2 years we have all been together....17 humans and 1 dog Benji !!!!

It was quite a challenge trying to get the people grouped and I had to try masking some of them....adding the glasses was even harder!!!

I used the heart from the 'send with love' stamp that came with my sale-a-bration set.

My sixteen year old son Alex, laughed when he saw the card trying to work out who was who, and I have called in my daughter, India's skills in photographing the card to send to you!..

Hope it makes you smile
*************************************************************************************

And here is the card

Not only it made me smile but it nearly made me cry. Having a large family( mum is one of 5 and dad one of 11, uhu gran and grandma had no telly) I know first hand how wonderful and special family reunions are, and of course living 2000 miles apart from your loved ones makes it even harder to get together. I adore this card and is one I am planning on recreating myself one day including all my family members. Thank you so much Alison for sharing this with me and for allowing me to share it with all my readers, I think is wonderful and it just shows that no amount of shop bought cards will ever be as special as a hand made one. This creation is one I am sure will be kept forever.

ps how cute is little Benji? he hee

And this is what I have been doing, preparing little surprises for all our class participants. I loved posting all those white envies stamped with the sweet Fabulous Friend stamp from the Oval all set. I am soo excited we only have 2 DAYS LEFT!!!!! I shot the welcome video and OMG!! It took me like forever I was getting out of my mind with having to retake parts over and over again, and then you know when you get interrupted so many times that hysteria starts to set in? Well it happen and I ended up adding the bloopers at the end for a larf. Oh and I look rough, very rough even though I had more makeup than Coco the clown on, hee hee never mind I am sure people wont mind it, the projects are looking good so that s what matters. I will see you soon hugs M xxx

Birthday Passionette !!!

Woohoo today ( actually is yesterday now oops) is Linda's Happy Birthday. Her favorite colour is black and this is the card I made her

Now I was a bit stumped for ideas when it came to this card and it was the black that did it. I really didn't want to do an all black card for her Birthday but I wanted to work with black and in the end combined my favorite colour(red) with hers and ended up with this. Polka dot background stamped in black over Whisper White, Blooming with beauty stamp set coloured using markers, real red ribbon and a beautiful brad from the silver hodgepodge box. I know she loved her card as she left a message on the demo forum we all visit, so Linda I hope you had a beautiful day. xx
Right off I go to bed now will share something cool tomorrow and no is nothing I have made, wait and see. hugs Monica xxx

ONE WHOLE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been away for! Time does fly and I seem to have lost a whole week. We are less than a week away from the StampWithUs online classes so the heath intensifies as you can imagine, loads to organize and set up before next Friday. The projects are looking FABULOUS even if I say so myself and I only hope our participants will think the same. I have to say I was, in fact the three of us were amazed at the amount of you joining us but then it shouldn't really be that surprising as you do get such fabulous value for money. We have added more information about the classes on HERE and I have also designed a sweet all in one box, as a Free bonus project for all of you that have been supporting Stamp With Us by joining in our challenges and leaving such encouraging comments. You are truly LOVELY thank you . So here it is enjoy and don't forget to post a link to my blog if you have tried it out.
You can download the pdf HERE.
My next card is one I have made for our current recipe challenge on SWUS . Use two pattern papers, four brads, and some ribbon.
Now when I started this I had a different looking card in mind and I am sorry to tell you that it looked nothing like this. LOL
Mr and Mrs stamp set, gold brads, Very Vanilla wide grosgrain ribbon, Washington Apple and So saffron designer paper. My image was coloured using Pumpkin Pie and Apricot Appeal SU markers.

I also made a card for a colour challenge over on ILWS hosted by Kate. This was the inspirational picture
And this was my interpretation, a card made for the lovely Julie one of my Passionettes to celebrate her recent promotion.

Regal Rose, Old Olive and Whisper White card stock, Always Artichoke narrow grosgrain ribbon and a touch of Bashful Blue sponged behind the two step flowers and leaves from the Happiness Always hostess level 3 stamp set. Oh and I caved in and got some Nesties, actually I believe those are called Megabilities. I will see you all tomorrow as I have an important post to make. Hugs Monica xxx

Three little ..............

....sausage dogs!!!!!!!!!!! Heloo just a quick one as I am really busy. I though you might like to see something other than a card and I have just delivered this little beauty.Kate my hairdresser asked me if I would make her a cake for her mum's 50th birthday. And I said yes I will do it as long as it a simple design and wont take me longer than 5 hours. Which is what we did kept it simple and it only took me 3 hours in total( cooling the ganache before whipping was what took the longest), made the doggies while cake was cooking then put it all together in super fast time. Kate's mum has 3 gorgoeus daschund's and they are her life, she sows them and constantly wins all those rosettes with them. So we just decided to make 3 sugar models of the girls and that s what I did. here s a peek
How cute are they???????? The dust like speck that you can see is edibile glitter so it all shimmers lovely. Anyway had an appointment today and took it in with me, Kate loved it and I hope her mum will too. I will be back tomorrow and I have something very exciting for you all on SUNDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs M xxxx

Birthday Passionette !!!

Well, did you have a fabby weekend? I do hope so mine was lovely but passed over so very quick and I am now back to normal. The response for our SWUS online classes has been overwhelming and I cannot wait to get started, I am working hard at it at the minute and I have to say I am delighted with the projects finished so far, and you will be too I am sure. CANNOT WAIT!!!

Today, Jo one of my fab Passionettes celebrates her birthday!!!!!!!. There are quite a few Passionettes with birthdays around this time of the year, I love it. And here is the card I made for Jo.

Jo's favorite colour is blue and I choose to work with Ballet Blue, Certainly Celery and Old Olive as my combo for her card. Then I inked some new rubber. I had this Level 3 hostess set **Happiness Always** for a while now and I finally broke into it. I love butterflies and I am not sure Jo is a flowery kind of girl so I went for feminine still but without the flowers. The background was stamped with En Francaise and sponged with Ballet Blue ink. The celery circle was dotted with a black marker and I was surprised to find that it looks like is been pierced. The ribbon is Certainly Celery and I've added some tiny pearls that Anna one of my online friends got for me from Lakeland an age ago. Jo I hope you will have a super day while being spoilt rotten by Paul and Sidney. Happy Birthday sweetheart Hugs M xx

Happy Easter!!!

Hello, Look who's here!!!!!!!!!Yep sweet Luca, my sister and BIL arrived on Friday morning to spend a couple of days with us. Is so nice to have them again and is double nice to spend some time with this little guy. He changed so much since last time I've seen him and even though I see him every day via the web cam( we speak daily) is still a shock to see it IRL. So Friday afternoon we headed to the nearest park even though the weather was grim and showery. We put our wellies on Mimi( he still calls me Mimi LOL) took her camera and off we went. Now of course he is still relatively new to this walking lark and walking in wellies is not fun. Every now and again he ended up like this much to our amusement. And then we found a puddle, and Mimi was the first to teach him just how much fun jumping in the middle of it and splashing everywhere IS( I was so busy showing him I didn't took any pics, boo hoo). You should have seen his little face **priceless**, and I enjoyed that sweet moment before I caught my sister's glare LOL> Well puddles are meant for that especially when you ve got wellies on.

As you can imagine we are having a lovely weekend and I hope you will to. I would love to know how you celebrate Easter.

I have a card to show you, our second challenge at SWUS has been released and the theme is **BIRTHDAY**, so given that I am having such a lovely time with Luca, I started to make a kiddies Birthday card so I pulled my All in the family set out as well as the accessories that goes with it and set to work.

Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive card stock, Rose Red double stitched ribbon, Styled Silver hodge podge hardware and Many Marvelous markers. I stamped everything in black Staz on using the Stamp a ma Jig then added colour with the markers. This card was half inspired by a card featured in a old American SU catalogue. I stamped all the accessories and then I felt like I needed a sun in the top corner well I just went for it without trying it out first and of course it went a bit wrong, but I suppose is meant to look like a child s done it LOL. I have simply wrapped the big brad around the ribbon and secured it at the back. So cute don't you think? I LOVED seeing ebryone s creations on our first challenge and i hope you will play along this time too, is an easy peasy theme so I'm sure you will. Chat soon hugs Monica xxx

Yesterday I promised you a card and here it is, I LOVE this one!!!. I bought this set for one reason only, to demonstrate the spotlighting technique.( it is brilliant for so much more though)

Now like I was telling you yesterday I made this as an exact replica to the one I have made for my friend Michelle, only that hers was in Tempting Turquoise to match her blue eyes and I can assure you it was just as lovely. I embossed the Fresh Cuts background stamp in black onto my Whisper White layer and stamped the wine onto the pumpkin Pie layer with P.Pie ink then simply stamped again and punched out my spotlighting bit( the gorgeous flower head) coloured it using the Marvelous Markers, the *fabulous friend* sentiment from Oval All was layered onto a Scalloped Oval and I've used the same markers ( Summer Sun and Pumpkin Pie) to add colour to the tiny flower. Rather like this one you know. Hugs M xx

ooh before I go , I have ONE place left for a Stampers 10 CLUB starting as soon as we are FULL, would you like to join one? find out more info HERE and send me an email if you would like to join us. xxxx

Birthday Passionette !!!

Hello have you had a lovely weekend? I did the weather was nice although a bit breezy but the sun was shining nonetheless which is always nice.
Tina one of my lovely Passionettes is celebrating her HAPPY BIRTHDAY today so I have made her a card, Tina's favorite colour is pink and boy did I made her a PINK card!!! I combined it with a challenge set by my SCS sisters and that was to make a monotone card and here it is: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink with a hint of black. I used the level 2 hostess stamp set Spring Solitude flowers coloured using the Marvellous Markers, Polka Dot background was stamped in Versamark and embossed in white, and the frilly punch is one I had for ages not sure who makes it though (it cuts and embosses), sentiment from the Sincere Salutations and striped grosgrain ribbon in Pretty in Pink. Tina Happy birthday sweetheart hope your day was full of nice surprises and i hope you liked your pinkified card. Hugs M xxx

Talking about birthdays I was still receiving card by Saturday, so here it goes I am sharing some more special cards kind friends have made for me.

This pretty frame came from my dear friend Michelle, we share our birthday and I haven't got a photo of the card I made for MichelleI I sent it at the last minute as always LOL) but I made one exactely the same in a different colour that I will share in my next post so you can see it then.

How cool is this? I love everything about this, the Washington Apple ds paper is glorious, I adore it Michelle what a great way to showcase those papers!!! She also made me a cardMmm yummy colours and the sentiment made me go weak, thank you sweetheart so much.

Then the lovely and ever so generous Steph, this is the sweetest girl you will ever meet with a heart as big as the White House. She sent me this beauty here which I absolutely adore

Made from scratch stamp set and all new Washington Apple papers, isn't it gorgeous? I love it Steph and I also love the cute little tins you ve sent me. Thank you

And my sweet friend Paula made me this

Paula is my local crafting buddy, I introduced her to card making when I moved here 5 years ago, and since then she amassed a huge crafting collection THREE times the size of mine( I am not kidding you !!). her card is really beautiful, shame I cannot photograph the sparkle properly she used a dazzling diamonds along with the heath and stick powder over this gorgeous image, is it Rubber Romance? I don't think it is, will have to ask her. So huge thanks ladies it was very nice to have a prolonged birthday. Hugs Monica xxx
