Under the Big Top…15

hello guys how’s your Sunday going ? I had a lovely class this morning lots of lovely happy ladies came and we played with the yummy Reason to Smile set. We used it every way we could and made some sweet projects that I will share here with you next week.
Today however I am sharing a birthday card I had to make for a very special young lady who will celebrate her 15 Birthday tomorrow.
bekka
It’s the first time I have used this set I think after seeing a fabulous card Heather made for a Stampin’Up! contest, you can see her amazing creation HERE.
The set is perfect for the young and the young at heart, a good choice for sure. Now my card is nothing as involved as Heather’s but i really like how it turned out. The seal was stamped in basic black ink and then coloured using our fabby Marvelleous markers.
One edge was scalloped using the scallop border punch and a simple rosette displaying THE NUMBER was the only thing this card needed.
Big top close
Our punches are brilliant for layering and I whipped up this accent in no time. The numbers were cut on the Big shot machine with the fabby Timeless Type Junior Alphabet in Daffodil Delight designer paper.
And the card doubled up as the gift holder with the aid of the clever envelope die
Big top inside
No points for guessing what was hiding inside it *smile*, at that age they want one thing and one thing only, paper with our Queen’s head on it.
The envelope was cut using the Daffodil Delight Designer paper and a medallion made from oval punches houses a sweet sentiment from the same set.
Here are the products used :All Stampin’Up! unless otherwise stated.
Stamps: Under the Big Top
Inks: Basic Black, daffodil delight, pumpkin pie, pool party, poppy parade
Card stock: Pool Party, Poppy parade, Daffodil delight cardstock and designer paper stack, and Whisper White
Accessories: 2 3/8” scallop circle, 13/8” and 1 1/4”circle punch, Extra large scallop oval, large oval and small oval (now retired) punch, scallop envelope die, itty bitty flower punch, rhinestones an narrow taffeta ribbon in real red
Right my work for today is not done yet so I will love you and leave you, have a fab rest of the day and see you again tomorrow hopefully.
Big hugs xx

  3. Hello

I stumbled across your blog. Always a pleasure seeing another crafter getting pleasure from what they do.

Im'e a gilder and use gold leaf and imitation gold leaf rather a lot.

It's really quite easy to gild onto paper, and there are various ways to create antique and distressed finishes as well.

If you have a moment, pop over to my site, there is quite a lot about gilding onto paper, in particular there is an old bookbinders trick which you can use to make really authentic looking imitation vellums and parchment papers from ordinary papers.

    Good luck to us all.
