Field Flowers Filter Paper Technique

Hello everyone, how is your weekend going? I had such a chilled day today I totally forgot to blog earlier so here I am with a short departure from masculine projects. However I warn you, my next project is male focused again :) it just happened this way.

The project I’m sharing today is a fun technique I demonstrated at our last team training in March. I love our training sessions with our fun group.

Ok here’s the card

Field Flower Filter Paper Technique

Isn’t all that texture fun? Its definitely an attention grabber and very easy to achieve. Did you spot the Coffee Filter Paper in the Spring catalogue? No? well don’t worry most people haven’t. It is a great product, quite inexpensive and very versatile. And this technique is just one of the many ways you can use it.  Here’s the how :)

Start by stamping the solid flowers from the  stamp set Field Flowers randomly onto a piece of whisper white card. I used Baja breeze ink for this. Next take a piece of coffee filter paper slightly larger than your card stock and crumple it up.

Take a glue stick and cover the entire piece of white stamped card stock. Place the filter paper over the top and smooth out. The creases will remain and create that fabby texture you can see.

Next take the corresponding outline flowers. I need to explain, Field Flowers is a two step set of stamps, you have a base image then a detailed top layer that matches the base image. Ink  these outline images in Pacific Point ink and stamp on top of the coffee filter paper matching the base images under the filter paper.  Stamp the stem and sentiment in Lucky Limeade ink and Voalah! you is done!!!

It looks great and it is very easy to achieve. Inspired to give it a go? I hope so, we all had fun putting our cards together that night :)

The colours used were Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand and whisper white. White organza ribbon heightens the luxurious feel and look of this textural card. Oh and the border? that was created with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.

And my lovelies that is it from me today :) I won’t blog tomorrow as I will be busy sharing more filter paper techniques and lots of fun with our team and other fellow demonstrators attending our Quarterly Training in Peterborough but I will be back on Monday for sure telling you all about our day, hope you enjoy your Sunday whatever you are doing.

Thank you for your visit and as ever big hugs to you all :)

  1. A fabulous technique Monica - must admit, I did see the filter paper in the catalogue, but didn't quite know how I would use it, but I know now! Love the texture and the beautiful shabby-chic look.
