Broadsheet Alpha BIG THANK YOU

Hello there hope you’re doing well. My kitchen has been transformed into a cake making factory and I am having a ball making a wedding cake for a family wedding we have to attend this weekend. The luscious lemon layer and the fruit cake are both iced and ready for the decoration and  the chocolate truffle layer needs a bit more cooling time and then is ready to be filled and iced. I am doing all the piping tomorrow and I am excited. It is a very elegant cake they have chosen, an identical copy of one designed by the talented Mitch Turner from Little Venice Cake Company.

This is the tall order I have on my hands!! I have to try and  recreate this beauty. I love it!! very elegant and delicate, the bride choose pink hydrangeas instead for the top and hopefully I will have a photo or two to show you once I finished it. Wish me luck for tomorrow piping by hand all that intricate design eeks!!
Today I am sharing a BIG THANK YOU card that I made for all my old colleagues I have worked with. They gave me such wonderful gifts on my last day and I was very sad to leave them especially when reading all their sweet messages in my hand made card made by the lovely Ali. I miss them already !!!
ty_
It’s bright and bold and it uses my favourite Alphabet set from Stampin’Up! the versatile Broadsheet. this card came together quickly but it evolved from what i had in my head when I first set to work on it. I was clear on the bold and colourful message but not on the rest and the layered ruffles come later as a result of me wanting to incorporate all the colours used in my message. I love the layered scalloped edges. And you can see a close up of the message
ty close
I stamped it freehand and is not perfect but I didn’t wasn’t after the perfect look, I wanted it to be a bit fluid.

Artistic Etchings- Shutter Card

Hello there I hope you’re enjoying your Sunday, weather here has been so mixed this last few days.
I spent the bestest few days with one of my good friends Moira a demonstrator from France. She stayed with us for a few days and we crafted till the wee hours of the morning indulged in midnight feasts drank a few bottles of fizzy and had a  really great time and she enabled me to a Thermomix (I NEED one now do you have one? let me know if you do), and I am so missing her today. I absolutely loved having her here and I cannot wait till I fly to France to craft in her lovely room. I haven’t got any pictures at all would you believe it? we were so busy working on a very special project that I will share with you later along with the disaster that couldn’t be averted, and didn’t took one photo at all.
Anyway enough blah blah I am sharing a commission I had to make for someone, a 21 Birthday card.
I am not good with personalizing cards but needs must and all that and this is what I ended up with.
lucys_
Is a Shutter card and I have to admit the first one I have ever made Surprised smile, I know I must be the last crafter in the land to attempt one of these. I love and admire all the intricate fold cards but not really interested in making them. I always think they are fiddly to do and shy away from them, well I was wrong again as this was way easier that it looked .
I have used the gorgeous Artistic Etchings stamp set from the main Stampin’Up! catalogue and the Love letter designer paper collection. They go together really well and were an obvious choice for a not to girly 21 year old.
Here’s a Birdseye view
lucys view
I won’t provide directions and measurements as you can easily find dozens of tutorials online just search for shutter cards.
I have also made a display box inspired by my wonderful and talented friend Jenny Moors.

Little Additions, and NO VIDEO :(

Hello there and Happy Sunday !! this is a scheduled post and hopefully by the time you read this I will be with my team enjoying a fabulous day  of crafting chatting and sharing.  I know I will have so much to share with you after the event so don’t worry you will get to see what we’ve been up to.
You know the video? well I am jinxed as I have done it (a lot later than I wanted to but I did it) however I am having real trouble uploading it to You Tube tonight( it has failed twice already) and I have to call it a day because I have a long drive tomorrow(scheduled post  remember) and is nearly midnight, I need to be fresh and on form, please bear with me I will come back to it, I promise. Meanwhile I still have something crafty for you.
I was commissioned to make this card a few weeks ago now but I had so many celebrations to show on here I just didn’t have the chance to share it yet.
I love the Little Additions set, I have to confess to not owning any baby sets from the current catalogue apart from the tees wheel, BUT when I saw this lovely set in the new mini catalogue I just couldn’t say no, it is very modern and versatile as you can use it for so many other occasions no just babies.
easel_
And I went pink MAD when choosing my combo!!!! I just couldn’t decide on one pink and went for three pinks instead with a touch of Soft Suede added to the mix. Colours I have used are Pretty in Pink , Regal Rose and hot Melon Mambo.
I went for an easel card and the top note die is just perfect for this type of cards, just how gorgeous it looks on there? I love this die!!
The bunting was stamped in alternate colours and a tiny gem was placed in between each one. The cot was stamped an cut out then raised of the main panel for extra interest same with the blocks too.
I love the * It’s a girl* tiny sentiment and was so pleased to found that it fitted inside the tiny tag perfectly, this was added to the stamped bunting again for  added interest.

The word BABY was spelled using the fabulous Broadsheet Alphabet and pretty in Pink satin ribbon tied the whole look together.
I hope you like my Sunday offering and once again sorry to disappoint re the video but I am sure you won’t have to wait more than one day.
Have a relaxing day and see you again tomorrow,  guess what?  is a team celebration again Open-mouthed smile wooohooo, till then big hugs  xx

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIS….

Hello there how are you? I should be travelling back today so if I haven’t managed to post yet I will give you a full account tomorrow as I am sure I have LOTS to show and share.
Today is my sweet sister’s birthday. And just like last year I am missing it. Now I need to tell you that I adore this woman, she is the kindest most beautiful person inside and out and I am so grateful for her and for all she brings to my life especially that gorgeous little boy called Luca.
I have made her a card and left the gift with hubs to post. this was the card i have made.
lauras Early espresso, Baja Breeze and Crumb cake. a little and I mean a very little Pear Pizzaz ink was added to the leaves. Growing Green is the name of the stamp set and is one perfect for a bit of colouring. I have stamped the word sietr using the Broadsheet alpha in crumb cake ink, the top note die was cut on the big shot and embossed with the square lattice folder, the top vanilla layer was stamped in crumb cake ink using the Vintage wheel. The flowers and leaf were added using dimensionals .
lauras close
Baja Breeze seam binding was tied in a double bow and ruffled and rhinestones provide a bit of bling.
Happy Birthday Laura hope you’re enjoying your special day and the boys are spoiling you rotten.
Right do not forget about my special offer it runs out at midnight tonight, read more about it here.
See you again very soon thank you for popping by, till then big hugs xxx

Helooooo there…

I am not sure if you heard from me since I left for Prague as this is a scheduled post. I am posting the gifts I took for my two lovely downline that earned the trip with me, Julie and Bekka. It is so amazing to be there with them, they both work very hard and I am extremely proud of all their achievements sharing this wonderful trip with them means a lot to me.
I selected a small gift for each of them to show my appreciation for all they do.
boxed 2
This was the packaging and I used a combo I have never used before. Basic Gray, Garden Green (is that green againBe right back) and Marina Mist.
I have used a set that’s so gorgeous and I don’t use enough like most of my stamp sets really is the Notably Ornate. I have simply layered the frame from the set with all the elements for a collage/vintage inspired look.
here’s another view of them

I have also used the spritzer tool to add the fun splatters. The Broadsheet Alphabet monogram was stamped and decoupaged and a few rhinestones were added.
Oh and want to see what is inside? THIS …
