Well I woke up and is was ready to share so here it is my latest video tutorial on how to make a lovely bookmark using the silver Hodgepodge from SU. I will however need to make you aware that if you give this a go be careful and don't make the same mistake I did, can you spot it? the first person to spot my mistake in this video gets a little prize, just leave me a comment. Also I know that after seeing this you will just have to buy this beautiful tin full of yummyness so I'm going to make it easier to treat yourself to it. Buy the Hodgepodge Hardware tin and a reel of the double stitched grosgrain ribbon( colour of your choice) from me for an amazing £25.00 plus p&p. Great deal you could make at least 10 bookmarks to give as presents this year and still be left with loads of gorgeous pieces of hardware to use on your projects, just email me at telemech01@aol.com. Right I better go to work now enjoy the video. Hugs Monica xxx

Honey, did you stick your piccy upside down in the hardware!!
ReplyDeleteYou can be forgiven though as it is so gorgeous whichever way round it is!!
Excellent tutorial, thank you, I think the mistake you made was... saying the plyers are NOT metal.
ReplyDeleteJose
Love the bookmark but did you put the ribbons on the wrong way round on the one in the video
ReplyDeleteYou didn't put the hot metal on top of you plastic ink pad did you.
ReplyDeleteScrummy bookmark.
Monica - I love the book mark and thanks for a fab tutorial - and I noticed your mistake at the very end!! Your stamped image will be upside down when used as a bookmark!!!
ReplyDeleteSo unless I missed something I guess your mistake was cutting the ribbon the wrong way ... I've done that soooo many times.
ReplyDeleteGreat tip about the embossing powders - if I stored mine like that I guess I'd use them more often. Lovely bookmark ... really pretty!
What a fab idea. I will have a go at making some of these. The only mistake i could see was the one where you cut the ribbon. Instead of a V you cut a point initally.
ReplyDeleteThat is excellent,Thanx!!! :o)x
ReplyDeleteGreat video Monica - well done
ReplyDeleteYou mention not to do something you did ... was it get the image the wrong way up? I think the image needs to be the facing away from the ribbon to make it the right way up on the book when its in use?
As you have comment moderation, you can leave this off your blog - I don't want to enter for the prize!
ReplyDeleteFab tutorial - I love this bookmark and will be casing for sure!! Thanks for sharing the idea. I will make sure that I put the image in the frame the right way up though!!

Fabulous tutorial Monica. Now for the mistake, Is the image upside down on the video compared to your previous post?
ReplyDeleteTFS :-)
I really love your tutorials, thank you so much for sharing! Was the teeny mistake cutting the "v" in the ribbon? Looked cute either way :) x
ReplyDeleteHi Monica,
ReplyDeleteyou wanted to emboss the frame two times. But you have only emboss it one time. is that the mistake???
Great video, tomorrow my hardware will arrive, then I will make these wonderful bookmarks.
Bye Irene from germany
Hello I just watched your tutorial for the awesome bookmark, and to answer the question of what mistake you made in the tutorial..you placed the stamped image into the frame upside down from what it should be. xxTee
ReplyDeleteLove this bookmark! Such a great use of the Hodgepodge frames.
ReplyDeleteWas the 'mistake' you cutting the card shape around the top of the frame instead of across the width, so you couldn't thread the last ribbon through easily?
Easy done, I'm always doing stuff like that ;-) xx
I love that file...
ReplyDeleteJust a guess at the mistake (except the ribbon cutting that you spotted :)), you made the one in the video with the image upside down in the frame to the one in the photo???
What a great tutorial ~ I am definitely going to try this. And I won't pretty up my ribbon the wrong way 'round at one end like you did....that's the error! Did I win?
ReplyDeleteGreat Vid, will defo try these...I do see the mistake though, you've put the whole stamped image in upside down!!! Glad i'm not the only one who makes mistakes like that!! :) :)

LOL Poor Monica... now people are finding errors you didnt know where there!! I assume it was sticking the stamped image the wrong way!. Beautiful though Monica... hugs

Hi Monica, Gorgeous bookmark idea, I think if the bookmark is meant to fold over the book pages then the image is upside down in the frame!
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial, thanks!
Kim
Hi Monica, this is a fabulous video. Thank-you so much for sharing. I think you stuck your piccy on upside down but as someone else said, it still looks gorgous!
ReplyDeleteHi Monica, Thanks for being a part of the UStamp which introduced me to you and your talents and now to your blog site. Wow, I did not now you can emboss your hodgepodge so they are even better. Great tutorial I might try one of your bookmarks soon.
