Hello everyone and WELCOME to our team Blog Hop highlighting the Spring Summer Seasonal Catalogue. We are showcasing the WHOLE catalogue page by page so chances are that we will feature ALL of your fave products :).
Now if you wish to start at the beginning of the catalogue head straight to the lovely Vicky and see what she has planned for you HERE.
If you arrived from lovely Dawn I welcome you :), did you (like myself) think that Dawn’s projects were just gorgeous? I love what she has designed for us :)
Now onto my project
I am so proud of the door handle in this photo :( (yiikes)
I chose to show you the new Borders Scoring Plate. It fits perfectly into our Simply Scored Board and you can create pretty embossed borders on your projects in a snap. Now I will be honest with you, my first few tries were not good and this turned me against this board until I had to design something for this hop. And then I remembered a tip I learned about more than 10 years ago in the days when light embossing using a metal plate and light box was all the rage. SOAP or WAX !!!! Gently rub either of these onto your card before you start and you will have no problems with the top layer moving or not getting a nice impression, the stylus glides effortlessly on the card .
I like that the board offers you a bit of extra length versus embossing with the the Big Shot, and that is nice because I now have the option to work and emboss on scrap pages as well.
I embossed a piece of Pool Party Coredination paper then sanded so the pattern was more evident.
I coloured a cheap frame from Wilkinson in two seconds using some Whisper White reinker and my trusty aquapainter(I was to lazy to go to the shed and get a paintbrush)
Smear the ink on then brush it in, simples :) Next I layered a few elements inside it for a seasonal collage. I have used the Morning Post Alphabet to stamp my letters before cutting them out.
Lots of layering here…
For the cute heart pom poms I coloured creped filter paper using my brayer then cut about 30 hearts using the new Framelits die. Simply fold in half adhere together then fan out to get a pom pom shape. I sprayed them with shimmer mist so the colour bled nicely afterwards.
And here’s they are
I also made a very quick card using the borders board and this time I only embossed a tiny bit at the edges of my card.
The card was made using the HAPPY HELLO simply sent FREE SAB Card kit, and I love the bright funky combo. Its such an easy kit to work with. After embossing I swiped a Versamark pad over the raised areas to highlight them and make them stand out a bit more.
I hope you enjoyed my showcase today, I thank you for your visit and I wish you a pleasant journey checking out the fabby projects. Next hop is the fabulous Linda, go see what she has in store for you HERE.
Big hugs xxx

Wow... These are absolutely Gorgeous projects Monica Hunni :) xx
ReplyDeleteTotally gorgeous and totally Monica! When dry embossing I was taught to use Reynolds paper (the slightly waxed paper you can use in the freezer to keep burgers etc from sticking in a pile). Rub it on and it leaves just enough glossy wax to allow the stylus to glide nicely.
ReplyDeleteMonica, your projects are gorgeous as always and I really loved the little tree decs.
ReplyDeleteThank you for adding to my to do list lol x
Love your projects Monica and am enjoying the blog hop, my first one! Sorry now that I only did one project I promise to do better next time xx

ReplyDeleteHi Monica, your designs are wonderful and inspiring. I have not had a real go of my new embossing plate but feel better prepared thanks to your little tip. Just took part in my first blog hop at Julie's Gem's and enjoyed looking at all the fab SU projects thought I would have a look at the wonderful Passionettes bloghop to see if any if the ladies I met at the training day have posted. Just going to bloghop now. X

ReplyDeleteFab projects as always Monica. I had to smile when I saw your embossed background that was the first thing I did when I took my embossing plate out of the box...grabbed a sheet of cardstock and embossed pretty much all the designs onto the one sheet...
