We did it!!!!

Hello there,  I hope you are not to upset with me for not updating you this last week. You see it ended up being spent by organizing every little last detail for my second PapeRieTreat this weekend. And what an amazing time we had once again. The classes were well received, most importantly almost everyone finished every single one of them and those that didn’t had only very minimal finishing touches to add ( I know it because I checked LOL). Food was just as delicious as ever and the fabulous team at Monk Fryston Hall came up trumps once again expertly looking after our every whim, it was so lovely to see them recognise the guests which attended the first event, only an independent venue can offer you that personal friendly service. But for me it was the people that attended who made it the special weekend it was. A group of 33 amazing, talented women from different walks of life, different age groups, some whom I knew,  some whom I met for the first time joined me and my event and made every minute of this weekend a pleasure, I can honestly tell you that it did not feel like work for me.

PaperieTreat 2013

I miss them all already and we only said goodbye at 4 pm :). I love this picture, I asked them all near the end to grab their favourite project of the weekend to pose for a group shot. Well that was funny as I hadn’t realised  that most of them had them all packed away in their cars.

We started our indulging experience on Friday night with a glass of chilled Spanish Cava and a beautiful class inspired by a very talented fellow demonstrator Laura Mackie.

Stampin'Up swallowtail journal  My project ended up very different to hers (isn’t that always the case?) but I was definitely inspired by her beautiful journal using this magnificent butterfly stamp and this is what prompted me to offer it as a class. THANK YOU so much Laura :)  I really appreciate you allowing me to share your creative genius with everyone this weekend.  Here’s some detail I loved the coloured wings.

And i need to point out that adding a circle of glimmer paper underneath the faceted buttons gives you that sparkly diamond effect and makes the buttons pop off your projects, try it you will know what I mean the pictures don’t capture the effect well.

To make the monograms we played with some air dry clay which I dyed using our reinkers before stamping our initials on, cutting them out and letting them to dry and cure.

The flower trim is such a versatile product and it adds so much to every project, here we inked it to tone down the clean look of it. A  charm was added next to some ribbon.

It was a lovely project to start with and before we knew it time for bed, we finished early as most had a way to travel and I had to set up the room for the next morning. Not sure why I bothered as I didn’t sleep a wink, I was to excited and frightened that I forgot something.

Here’s the gifts I prepared for each attendee with a lot of help from Carol my lovely partner in crime. (I was so delighted to have her join some of the fun this time round :) )

Tea for Two fabric pillow gifts

I made some fabric bags modelled on a lovely Christmas gift I received in  December from Terri  my lovely downline.

and inside I decorated a pair of white velour slippers.

I always say if my feet are happy the whole of me is happy that’s how the odea was born.

They were decorated with a simple fabric flower a top of a bow made with the two tone taffeta wide ribbon ( I LOVE THIS STUFF).

Here’s a closer look

And the lovely tag matching in colour way

I would love to stay a little longer and tell you more but I am pooped. I will however be back to daily postings from tomorrow so you won’t have to long a wait.

Before I go though my biggest thanks goes to each and every one of the fabulous ladies that decided to share this weekend with me and made it the success that it was and thank you my faithful reader for coming back and visiting me even though I don’t manage to always provide you with a post. Thank you :)
