Love my BUG!!!

Yeah that s right my Cricut Expression came on monday(God has it been that long since I ve last blogged??? SORRY) and I LOVE IT!!! I always said that I wont really need one and I still don t think I ll be using it lots but let me tell you something I just know that it will prove invaluable for cutting accents and letters and all that stuff. LOve love love it!!!

Ok are you part of the uks comunity? I f you are and you love cardmaking why don t you join me in a Christmas card swap I m hosting over there? You can find the thread here and there is still a few places left. Common it will be fun to get some ideas from diferent people and we all need loads of Chrissy cards.. it will be quite nice to have them all ready and waiting for when you need them. While I m on the subject of UKS comunity I was feeling poorly pants last week and mentioned it on the boards in my team thread, so one one of my team members very kindly sent me a Merry Bella stamp(wich I don t have) to cheer me up. Thank you sooo much Deb you re a very kind girl for thinking of me and I love you !!!
I have been making a few cards well one of them is actually a voucher one, one of our colleagues in work, she celebrated her 50 th birthday yesterday and us in the office put some money towards some vouchers but the cards they came with were a bit uninspiring so I ve offered to make a more fetching one, trouble was I only had a bout 20 min to make it. So here it is

I ve used some pink cardstock wich I ve embossed with a CB folder, drawn and handcut the flowers some matting a bit of organza ribbon, and a sentiment from the riveting set by SU. Simple and very easy to make but the colour combo makes it quite striking.

Now I ve made a card for Alex s blog candy giveaway(cos she s driving the boards nuts on uks LOL), you had to make a tent topper card, you probably know my sentiments regarding this type of cards, I dont dislike them as such, but I m not entirly sure they work either IYKWIM. Alex has some really nice examples on her blog but I m still to be convinced they are for me. Anyway here it is

I ve used a Real Dill stamp from Hero Arts and instead of ink I ve used my watercolour pencils and then stamped the image onto watercolour card. Layered and distressed the edges punched a hole for my ribbon with my crop o dile, and used some of my other fancy scissors instead of the scalloped ones for a change. Some rain drops domes SU sentiment and thats it. I promise The next projects I post will be something that I have made with my BUG promise!!! See ya!!!

More Bellas

I ve been busy really busy this last week and didn t have the time or I was too tired once I ve stopped to do any crafting whatsoever, and on friday night I HAD to do something. I ve made soem cards using the Bellas and I ve challenged myself to use the Paper Posies glittered stack from DCWV. When I ve bought it I thought yay I ll make loads of cards with those papers but it just wasn t the case it just stayed there in my box. So decided I ll have to use some of it and I did, this is what I ve come up with

This last one is a tent topper card that I ve made sfter seeing loads made by the talented Bird(ALEX) and I ve got to admit that is not my thing,I ve probably use the wrong image for it or is a bit too flat(ie not enough layers on it)and the pink is not purple like the picture shows it just come out this way it looks totally the wrong colour with the papers but is not IRL, but I thought I ll put it on here cos I only ever upload cards I m happy with I wanted to show you one I m not happy with. Also what I might do is find some of my first cards to upload and compare them side by side with some recent ones .

I ve also made a little topper as I m selling the wooden die to make those cuter teddies and somebody on UKS wanted to see a picture so I ve made this to show her. Right then loads to do I ve got another cake to make for next week so off to soak those fruits. See ya all mwah!!

Pocket card tutorial

Right guys a massive two of you wanted to know how to make this card, but I know there s a few lurkers around too, so come out and show yourself .. I don t bite honestly lol. Now this card is really not as complicated as it loooks but then they alaways say.. is easy if you know how!!!!

I will have to apologise for the quality of the pictures I m afraid one bulb in the ceiling is really not that good for photography. Here it goes:

Start with a A4 piece of cardstock and cut in half lenghtway like this...

The fold each piece exactely in half
Now on one side cut diagonally from the top left corner to bottom right hand corner, on the other piece from top right hand corner to bottom left hand corner. It will become more clearer once you see the image

Now choose your pretty paper and using the offcuts as templates cut a layer to fit each triangle. I ve used some Basic Gray Blitzen and stick on top of triangles leaving a small border. Now stick the two rectangles at the back together and your card should be taking shape, it should look like this one

Stick the front overlaping either to the right or the left wichever way you prefer but make sure you only stick the bottom edge and the front bit you will have to leave the pocket for the card to slot in. Make the card to go in the pocket embellish to your design then use a topper or any element you wish to decorate the front. And that s all there is to it!! See I told you it was easy...lol

My finished card is here

I ve used the image from the SU *Spring in Paris* set, I ve adapted her outfit you can t see it properly but shes got furry gliterry trim on her top and a pom pom on her hat, also the Vespa is watercoloured and diamond glazed but of course the colours are just c**p!!! I ve paper pieced the tree on the back of the bike by punching out several snowflakes and sticking down on a triangular shape. I think I will like to add some glitter to it later on. Used one of those picutre hanging thingies painted it with some red acrylic and tied a bit of ribbon onto it. Well I hope those instructions were clear enough but should you need more info please contact me. Hugs to all and MANY THANKS to all of you that care to leave a comment, please link here to show me your pocket cards. See ya!!!

Is it Christmas yet???????????????

Well no is not for a very long time yet!!! but us crafters like to think ahead and start early. I normally start in august but that s because I used to sell quite a lot of my Christmas cards, but this year I won t be selling any apart from a few to my friends, however I ve started and this is the first offering for this year. GET ME ...lol

It is a pocket card, and the middle card pulls out so you could add your wishes, those are also handy if instead of a gift you offer a voucher for example,it would make a nice way of presenting it. If any of you would like to know how is made leave a comment and I ll produce a quick tutorial for it. Right then back to the card....I ve used DCWV pps, circle punch, sizzix snowflake another little punched snowflake(don t know whos),bling bling, Hero Arts tiny snowflakes, grosgrain ribbon, Personal Impressions sentiment, and lots and lots of glitter, I love the stuff but only ever used it at Christmas time as I think is the only time you re allowed OTT glitz and sparkle without it looking tacky.
A closer wiev of all that bling!!!

While we are on a subject of pocket cards I ve made two this last few days, and this one is a general one but in a diferent size, just wanted to show you the diferent options when making those lovely shaped cardsand I must have been in a blue mood lately as this is the third card I ve posted and it has got some blue. This card has been made with 7 Gypsies yummy papers, Autumn Leaves swirls, Flowers from Au Naturell, Sentiment stamp from SU riveting set, and have you noticed the folded ribbon? I ve used it after a tutorial was posted on UKS and you can find it here.

This photo shows the middle card pulled out and there s plenty of space to write your wishes. Right I m off to bed now cos is late and I ve got work tmrrw. See ya

WILL YOU MARRY ME?

he asked?.......yes of course I will she responded !!!! So they were now engaged and everybody got together to celebrate their exciting news and of couse they needed a CAKE.... and I ve MADE them one..lol.
It was a two tiered heart shaped cake with one tier fruit and the second a luscious almond and white choc filling madeira cake. Kept the design quite soft and I m just in love with using anything pearly on my cards at the moment so I ve used it to edge the tiers. They love d it!!

Carmaking wise I ve managed a few more cards, I m really busy with preparing for a Craft Fair in Leeds next weekend, I will be demonstrating an explosion box and a card so I m trying to get everything done, but I ve got a few bits I can share. Today some good friends of our are celebrating their 12 th anniversary I ve made them this

MM papers, sizzix die cut hearts(can t wait for my new Expression machine!!)Autumn Leaves stamps, some bling, grosgrain ribbon, and some of those fluffy balls. My sentiment is a bit wonky but it was too late last night to try and pull the whole card apart, and is supposed to be hand made right???

Our other friend needed a card too so I ve made a diferent one for her, she loves brown so I ve paired it with the teal blue wich is such and exquisite combo I personally love it!!

I ve used Daisy D papers, a stamped image that I can t remember who made it,organza dotty ribbon and fabulos wide grosgrain(I love this ribbon soo much) prima flower, some bling again, microbeads and my scalloped punch.

Now have you subscribed to the new GOGO kit? If you did well done you are gonna be delighted with it!!!Septembers kit is gonna be launched on the 4th of this month but if you haven t signed up yet I m afraid you ve missed out as september s kit is sold out already. Lorraine and Janice are releasing sneak peaks over on UKS keep an eye on that too see what fabulos projects this DT have come up with. STUNNING WORK!!!

Next time hopefully I ll have some Christmas cards to share with you. SEE YA!!
