Strength and Hope sympathy

Hello there how is your week going? not long and is the weekend again and for us is good news as the weather is picking up which should be nice seeing as is Summer!!.

We had some sad news and another sympathy card was needed this week. The dad of our next door neighbour lost his battle with cancer the other day.

I do not like making these type of cards but I do not think anyone does but I made this card to send to his grieving wife.

sympathy I chose to use the charity Strength and Hope stamp set from Stampin’Up’s mini catalogue and my fave neutral Sahara Sand.

As for the layout I decided to have a few different elements grouped together, I didn’t planned it this way it happened as I was deciding, once again it took far longer than I wanted it to take, simple designs are far harder to get right I think.

The butterfly and the circle HOPE medallion have been raised on 3d dimensionals and the sentiment was stamped in black . A few rhinestones were added and some organza ribbon.

Here’s the recipe:

Paper: Sahara Sand and Whisper White card

Stamps: Strength and Hope, Hopeful Thoughts

Ink: Sahara Sand, Basic Black

Tools: Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, 1 1/4”circle punch, 1 3/8” circle punch

Accessories: Organza ribbon, rhinestones

Right I better go and get the tea ready, thank you for stopping by till next time Big Hugsxx

ps. Don’t forget about my marker share, read all about it HERE.

Vintage Daisy

Hello there I hope you’re having a great week, I have been so busy at work lately and I find I am worn out by the time I get home, but is nearly weekend again so onwards and upwards.
I have a few friends who are experiencing a bit of a tough time right now and I needed to make some sweet cards to brighten their day.
I am still working on the vintage and layering style and I had another go.
vintage
I have used a vanilla card blank and layered some Newsprint designer paper. Next I brayered some so saffron ink over the blank and the paper, I find that the quickest way to add a bit of shading to anything big or small is with the brayer. The crumb cake layer was embossed on the Big Shot. Next I cut some daisies from Pink Pirouette card and edged them in pretty in pink ink. The butterfly from Strength and Hope was stamped in black, cut out then positioned on the scrunched flower. Bling, I added some bling of course then stamped a decorative frame in Baja breeze and punched out. The sentiment from Sincere Salutations was stamped and punched with the large oval. I didn’t stop there though, oh no!! LOL I cut some swirls and added some crumb cake seam binding which ended up being ruffled.
vintage close
And then I called it quits, above a closer view of the main group, I really like this pink is nice and very subtle. I hope the girls enjoyed my card and I hope you did to :).
Right off  I got o bed now do come back soon as I am launching a new Christmas Card Club this year and you might be interested.
Thank you for visiting see you soon, till then big hugs Monica xx

Strength and hope

Hello there, I know you must have missed me and I have left you guessing what the fourth day in Prague brought. We got up early to see off all our friends that were having early flights back. Our departure time was not till 2pm that day and myself, Jules, Jerome and Valerie decided to visit the Jewish Quarter  before having some lunch. I haven’t got any photos from this day as you were not supposed to take any (I did do before I saw the signs and I got told off of course which was very embarrassing, oops!!  so I immediately deleted them all I felt very upset to think I was considered disrespectful).  The museum was very moving and the children drawings reduced me to tears, which was a bit embarrassing for my fellow companions (I am not good at concealing my emotions sadly).
After some lunch we headed back up to the hotel enjoyed a nice cup of coffee said goodbye to the two lovely Kellie's (Events team for SU) and set of for the airport. Just as we arrived the heavens open and I have never seen rain like, but we were safe and dry inside the airport and before we knew it we were on our way to Dusseldorf. Our connecting flight went smoothly this time round and we were soon on British soil again.
As I have come down to Earth from this amazing experience I am counting my blessings for being able to experience such lovely trips shared with such lovely and warm  people that make my life better. I love this Company for the way they listen to their demonstrators and the way they reward hard work. I have the best job out there and I LOVE IT beyond words. If you would like to start your own adventure with Stampin’Up! ask me how, I would love to share with you what I have learned in the last 3 years of being a successful demonstrator, contact me at telemech01@aoldotcom.
This last week was very full work wise and I have done an awful lot of planning, we also received some sad news in our small community. A lovely man lost his life on Saturday in a tragic bike accident, he was only 48.  I had to make a card
chocs-4
I have used River Rock, Whisper White and Basic Black. I tend to use this combo a lot when I think Sympathy Cards. The stamp set used is Strength and Hope  and the sentiment from the Hopeful Thoughts stamp set.
chocs-5
I have added some rhinestones but not to many, the flutter was cut and popped onto dimensionals and the motif was stamped twice using River Rock ink.
I find sympathy cards so hard to make it took me nearly two hours to arrive to this very simple design, you wouldn’t think it would you looking at it ?
Anyway thank you for stopping I hope to see you sooner next time, I want to thank you all for your amazing comments regarding my trip, thank each and every customer that supported me as well as my fabulous team of Passionettes that worked so hard to promote YOU ARE ALL FAB!!!!
Till next time big hugs Monica xxx

Birthday Passionette

Hello there hope you had a good weekend, our trip to London was FAB sadly we were so engrossed in our activities I forgot to take any pictures, the only ones I have are on a double decker bus and one at the Champagne and Sea food bar in Selfridges LOL.
On Saturday Dawn one of my lovely Passionette celebrated her Happy Birthday and this is the card I made her. She maybe didn't get it till Monday as I only posted it Saturday morning before leaving for London, sorry hun.
dawns-2
Dawn is such a lovely person and she loves pinks, so I have used a combo of Regal Rose, Crumb Cake and Basic Black. The stamp set I have used is one of my most loved sets from the mini catalogue it is called Strength and Hope and I like it even more because is a charity set, buy this set and support the Breast Cancer charity (SU are donating £1 from every set sold). I love butterflies and this one in this set has such a pretty shape to it.  I simply stamped them in Regal Rose ink and cut them out then a string of pearls were added to the bodies.
Here’s a close up
dawns
Have you spotted the gorgeous main panel? I love this effect, you simply ink the embossing folder with a ink of your choice using the brayer then you add your card and crank it through the Big Shot, voila instant aged panel very pretty, especially when topped with more little pearls. The sentiment a banner made with the Curly Cute set, this set is one of my faves, I love it !!
I have added a double bow made with the seam binding and will show you that in a video very soon.
Dawn I hope you had a lovely day my sweet and hope you liked the card.
Right off I go to bed I am bit tired tonight, till next time thank you for visiting and big hugs xxx

Birthday Passionette

Hello there well are you excited to see the wedding on Friday? I cannot wait and I have Sky plus it just to make sure I won’t be missing it and to look back over it of course.
Last Sunday it was Tracey’s Happy Birthday, Tracey is a Passionette who lives in Northern Ireland so if you’re in need of a demo that way please let me know and I will put you in touch with her. we haven’t met yet but spoke on the phone I know one day we will get there. Tracey likes purple and her card reflected that. Here’s what I did
eggsI used the Strength and Hope set, I love this set and I love the fact that is a charity set as well, also in a different colour other than pink it looks beautiful and you realise that is so versatile.
Elegant Eggplant cardstock and matching designer paper combined with very vanilla and crumb cake.
butterfly close The butterflies have been inked in pale plum first then I have added extra colour with a Elegant Eggplant marker, the markers are the best for adding more than one colour or shade to a stamp.  I cut 2 top Note die shapes with my Big Shot and to layer them I have simply cut the tiny perforated border away.
Then I have made a lush and crumpled ribbon bow using the crumb cake seam binding.
bow close
To achieve this beautiful and rather scruffy looking ribbon treatment you simply spritz some water onto the seam binding and scrunch it in your hands, I love the effect and topped it here with a pale plum button which in turn got a bit of a champagne glass glitter treatment. My card doesn’t have a sentiment on the front as I really couldn’t make it work, the ribbon took a lot of the space and the butterflies demand nearly all of the attention so I have stamped it inside of the card, instead.
inside The greeting comes from Perfect punches set and it has been punched out with the coordinating Extra Large Oval punch then layered onto a designer paper layer punched out with the decorative Label punch.
Tracey I hope you had a special day and enjoyed it lots I also hope you loved your card.
I also want to wish Linda one of my other Passionettes a very Happy Birthday for today, I will share Linda’s card later with a bit of a story attached.

Like the look of this stamp set? Well don’t forget the STAMP OUT BREAST CANCER Event which starts in a few weeks. Read all about HERE and order your kit Now, I have spent some time before this weekend cutting and bagging all the kits you will simply adore the projects.
Thank you for joining me hope to see you again soon, till then BIG HUGS xx
